Online Dance Classes
Summer Session
While we are unable to dance in person, Rince Na Saor is offering online dance classes via Zoom. The single biggest request I received for a summer program was that anything taught would be performable in our annual show, which we sadly didn't get to have this year. All of the offerings below can be performed, either solo or with other dancers, in our show next June, 2021.

This class will teach a soft shoe dance in a configuration which was standard for a very long time in Ireland: A "Lead Around" and a sidestep, followed by a several solo steps. Dancers will be free to choose which and how many steps they would like to add to their routine.
Mondays, 7:30-8:15 p.m.

Open to all levels.

Online Modern Irish Stepdance--Hard Shoe
Traditional Set Dances are hard shoe dances which were chorographed to a specific tune from the late 1800's through the 1940's. This class will teach the simplest and most well known of the Traditional Sets, a jig called "St. Patrick's Day". I will be teaching the short form of this dance, making it appropriate for all levels.

Online Sean Nós Stepdance
Sean Nós stepdance is an improvised artform, with the dancer varying their steps depending on the music they're dancing to. This class will present steps which fit the nuances of a specific piece of music. Dancers will then be encouraged to modify these steps based on what they hear in the tune, or make up their own.
